Bathroom Blaster

Probably one of the most time consuming and detested chores is cleaning the bathroom. Why? Because nobody wants to spend hours of their day scrubbing a bathtub. Whether we like it or not, day after day soap scum builds up from us bathing and showering. It's inevitable, but not unmanageable.

I started looking online (namely on pinterest) for some DIY shower cleaners, and found that just about every pin was the same magical concoction:

- 1 part vinegar

- 1 part Dawn dish soap

Simple enough, am I right? Now unfortunately, I had to work without Dawn (super sad, it's my favorite), but it still worked fantastically! There was very minimal scrubbing involved, which is amazing considering the amount of elbow grease I was expecting to put into it (I mean really, this tub was bad). If you are an unfortunate soul whose life is without Dawn (like me), my suggestion to you is baking soda. Apparently Dawn is far more effective than other soaps because duh, it's Dawn. I let my tub soak for an hour, sprinkled the baking soda, scrubbed it into the area so it would set in and allowed that about another 30 minutes to work it's magic. Here's the before and after picture:

BIG DIFFERENCE

I've never seen a cleaning agent work this well on such a difficult stain without either breaking my back or being so toxic I can't use it without gloves. You can use this on your sinks as well (best believe I did), and generally any part of your bathroom. Okay, maybe try to refrain from using it on your mirrors.

-1 cup vinegar

-1 cup dish soap

Step One: Pour your vinegar in a microwave safe container and heat it for about one minute.

Step Two: Once it's done warming, mix it with your dish soap.

Step Three: I personally chose to put it into a spray bottle, but you can also just pour it into your bath if you'd like.

Step Four: Now you can go ahead and start playing the waiting game anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

Step Five: Finally, take a wet rag or sponge and start wiping the mixture off, starting from the highest point.

That's it, you're done! I hope this works as well for you as it did for me (don't forget the baking soda if it doesn't come off in the first hour). In my personal opinion, we had a winner this round. Not too shabby for the first experiment. This one will remain my go-to bathroom cleaner for quite some time, I can already tell! Please, let me know if you tried this or have something else you'd like to see done. Until next time!
